Amen to that.
Quote:
Taken from F1.racing-live.com
"Our tyres have always been considered legal," declared Pascal Vasselon to Gazzetta dello Sport. "We have no reasons to modify them and we are contesting the new interpretation of the regulation by the FIA. Moreover, our tyres for the Italian Grand Prix were fabricated just after the Budapest race so we don't have enough time to modify our development and fabrication programme."
Should we expect to see a dramatic Italian GP with serial disqualifications ? It is not impossible, but Pascal Vasseon estimates that it is up to the FIA take their responsibilities. "It's a strange situation because the FIA didn't explain to us how they will inspect the tyres," added the Frenchman. "but if the FIA want to disqualify 10 cars at the end of the Italian GP, then they can do it."

Quote:
The new interpretation of the rules by the FIA has forced us to react. You don’t think for one moment that Michelin would not respond to the challenge? Our people have been working 24 hours a day since last Wednesday and new tyres are being tested in Monza as we speak. For anyone that knows anything about the tyre world, to do what we’ve just managed is a huge achievement and this is only possible thanks to the hard work and fast reaction time of our teams here in Clermont- Ferrand.

Quote:
"It was us who told the FIA at the end of the race that their treads were too big - we are not going to accept losing this way anymore," Brawn was quoted as saying in Wednesday's Gazzetta dello Sport. Asked what advantage a wider tread gave to a car, Brawn said: "It gives a better balance to the front of the car when braking because of the distribution of weight, making it more efficient on the bends."

Quote:
The FIA has threatened to disqualify teams using these tyres at the Italian Grand Prix on September 14. In Hungary 10 days ago, Fernando Alonso's Michelin-shod Renault actually lapped Schumacher's Ferrari -- an almost unheard-of incident in Formula One. FIA president Max Mosley and Whiting, his technical delegate, visited the Ferrari factory in Maranello last week, where they met the president, Luca Di Monteze molo, the sporting director, Jean Todt, Brawn, Schumacher, and various engineers.
|
Vast en zeker to be continued.
