idd. zou me verbazen dat dit mag want de Brera is een echte Gt, coupé . Meer logische denkpiste is een fake privéteam met 156's of zelfs 147's om Giovanardi en Farfus 2006 bezig te houden . Anderzijds is Giovanardi ook met BMW aan't flirten .

inderdaad en dat is iets wat ik graag hoor
en waarom is plato niet bij de line up van seat.. seat dan toch in de btcc ??

De productie BMW 320si is officieel voorgesteld. Uit het persbericht wordt ook duidelijk wat er allemaal aan de motor gewijzigd wordt.

This high level of performance has been achieved using BMW's motorsport technology. Compared with the 'standard' BMW 320i, the engine has been significantly modified with larger induction and exhaust valves to increase airflow. The cylinder bore has increased by 1mm to 85mm while the stroke has been reduced by 2mm to 88mm.

The compression ratio of the engine has also been increased from 10.5:1 to 11.0:1, helping to boost power by 23hp over the 320i. Additionally, instead of running with grey-cast-iron cylinder liners, the [b]pistons run in special aluminium-alloy liners in the cylinder block[b]. Engineers have also decided to remove BMW's patented VALVETRONIC induction system, reverting to a conventional throttle due to the higher engine speeds demanded by a racing engine.

In a direct link with BMW's motorsport programmes, the cylinder head is cast at BMW's Landshut foundry alongside Formula One engine blocks. Additionally, to save approximately 10kgs of weight and lower the car's centre of gravity, the cylinder head cover is made of carbon fibre.

Dat is idd. geregeld... en dat weerhoudt Fab. er niet van om later op't seizoen in wtcc een nieuwe Alfa te laten debuteren... of met 'n privé 147 een paar keer z'n behoud op de loonlijst bij Fiat te rechtvaardigen ... Tarquini & Thommo kunnen dat niet nu ze voor de concurrentie in wtcc uitkomen . Farfus zou mogelijk ook nog op de loonlijst blijven staan, loon in verhouding tot geleverd testwerk...

Krijgen we een Nordauto revival?

Volgens het laatste gossip verhaaltje in de Autosport van 23-11-05 is er een mogelijkheid dat N-Technology een tweetal wagens(156) gaat uitlenen aan "zusterbedrijf" Nordauto. De mensen die aan de wagens werken zouden worden overgenomen van N-Technology. Het budget van deze onderneming zou worden verzorgd door de familie Sipsz.

Nordauto was het speeltje van Monica en Mauro Sipsz voordat ze een joint-venture aangingen met Alfa. Naam van die joint-venture was N-Technology. In dat zelfde gossipverhaaltje komt AF Corse ook ter sprake. Dit team zou ook bezig zijn met een 2-tal 156's

Volgens pistonheads.com gaat het weldegelijk om een homologie special.

BMW has announced details of a new limited-edition version of BMW’s 2006 World Touring Car -- the BMW 320si saloon, a homologation special, on the back of BMW driver Andy Priaulx's 2005 championship.

Designed to comply with FIA homologation regulations, only 500 BMW 320si’s are destined for the UK out of 2,600 cars worldwide. All feature a hand-built four-cylinder engine made at BMW’s engine plant at Hams Hall, near Coventry. The high revving 2.0-litre unit delivers 173bhp at 7,000rpm before red-lining at 7,300rpm and 147lb-ft of torque at 4,250rpm.

Een truk om een zo performant mogelijke motor binnen het FIA reglement te verkrijgen

Waarschijnlijk heeft het wel met speciale onderdelen te maken, echter 2600 wagens is een aanzienlijk aantal.

Het lijkt er wel op.

Autosport.com understands that Alfa Romeo's 156s will commence testing for the new season at Vallelunga tomorrow, in an attempt to learn about the new-for-2006 Yokohama tyres.

Coureurs in 2006? Vermoedelijk Farfus en Mika Salo...........en als zijn BTCC schema het toelaat zien we Fabrizio Giovanardi terug in een derde privateer-wagen.

Algemene test:

The new official WTCC tyre supplier Yokohama will do a tyre test tomorrow at Vallelunga for the WTCC teams. The new privateer Alfa´s are expected to be there.

Het Nederlandse Madeno Racing wordt genoemd als team dat mogelijk prive Alfa's in gaat zetten komend seizoen. Madeno is de laatste jaren actief geweest in de European Alfa Challenge.
