Voor of tegen? Ik weet niet of dat de juiste houding is. Het is een feit dat binnen de FIA (of is het: "lees Ecclestone" ) alles moet wijken voor de F1. Door te kiezen voor dit schema is er bewust een besluit genomen om deze wedstrijd op een verlaagd veiligheidsnivo te laten plaatsvinden.

Probeer maar eens vrijwiligers te vinden op een werkdag die donderdag of vrijdag heet. Dat is ook overigens ook gedeeltelijk van toepassing op een zaterdag. Iemand die denkt dat er net zoveel vrijwilligers op een donderdag zijn als op een zondag heefter werkelijk niets van begrepen.

De echte conclusie? De munten (van de F1) gaan voor de veiligheid (voor de mensen die rondom het ILMC actief zijn)!

Zouden ze niet eerst nagekeken hebben of er wel voldoende veiligheidsmensen aanwezig zouden zijn alvorens de datumwijziging te bevestigen? Lijkt mij toch het meest logische...

En de vraag kwam toch ook van teams uit? Omdat anders de tv-kijkers zouden moeten kiezen tussen F1 en LMS.

De vraag kwam van de constructeurs in ILMC, niet van de F1. Zie ITV Delettre eerder deze week op turbomagazine.be

Following the unveiling of the 908 in February, a dieselhybrid version of the new car will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show. The newcomer has already been set ambitious targets for the 2011 season.

Een mix van de oude oer-Reynard en de Audi R15 was mijn eerste ingeving.

De motor is toch een lichte verrassing. Het gerucht was dat het om een 2.0 V6 turbo zou gaan, maar Prodrive heeft uiteindelijk voor 6 in lijn gekozen.

http://www.mulsannescorner.com/newsmarch11.html heeft een technische analyse van de wagen. Zijn conclusie is dat het ontwerp redelijk conservatief is (zeker in vergelijking met de Audi R18), waarschijnlijk omdat de aerodynamica voornamelijk met CFD gedaan is en weinig/geen windtunnel testen.

De AMR-One is trouwens te laat klaar voor Sebring

Als je het mij vraagt ... persoonlijk vind ik deze versie echt lelijk in vergelijking met de vorige. De achterkant vind ik goed meevallen, maar vooraan vind ik het maar niets. Maar goed, het zijn slechts schetsen en in werkelijkheid wordt hij wellicht mooier, hoop ik. Aan de snelheid van deze auto twijfel ik echter niet.

Hoop dan maar niet te veel, dit is namelijk de definitieve versie. Op dailysportscar.com kun je (enkel vandaag) foto's zien van de presentatie. In ieder geval een auto waar ik even aan moet wennen!

Op Autohebdo.fr staat trouwens nieuwe livery van de Oreca Peugeot.

Ik bedoel maar dat ik al dikwijls foto´s als deze zag van auto´s waarvan ik dacht dat ze lelijk waren, maar als ik ze dan zag rijden op het circuit viel het vaak nogal mee

Deze kan voor mij ook niet meteen tippen aan de Lola Aston Martin. Geef mij maar een coupé versie. Maar zoals gezegd, hopelijk valt het beter mee in real life. Nog een paar weekjes geduld en ik zal ze kunnen bezichtigen in Paul Ricard.

Oreca gaat in 2011 verder op het elan van vorig jaar. Dat wil zeggen met een ‘verouderde’ 908HDi FAP van het Franse Peugeot. De troepen van Hugues de Chaunac werden afgelopen seizoen kampioen in de Le Mans Series en mikken dit jaar op het ILMC kampioenschap.

Speed euroseries erkent door FIA +
Now that the SPA LMS event has been confirmed as Thursday 5th May to Saturday 7th May, there is potential for SPEED & Radical competitors to have exclusive testing during Wednesday 4th May.
SPEED will be on track on the Thursday for Free practice and qualifying, Friday for the first race and Saturday morning for the second race.

Based near Ostend, Belgium, Norma Benelux have a history of running Normas in the French VdeV series. For 2011 they will be running their Norma M20F in the SPEED series.
